Hi, My name is abhinesh, got BSNL ADSL connection for the very first time
never been able to work with this from day one. The technicians which BSNL send
is not able to resolve this issue. All these BSNL technicians know is the
a procedure to try "restarting the computer", but never know how to really
troubleshoot an issue. I have been provided with Hauwei ADSL modem to connect
to my computer; which never works. Tried calling up 1600 XXX 1600 and there picks
BSNL customer service agent who does not know anything what is happening
He then transfered the call to his supervisor, who I thought is better,
but he just said the golden words again "restart your computer ",
I have a windows XP, which is suppose to be simple to configure to the modem
and BSNL does not provide with any kind of software to autoconfigure the connection
I had to open my manuals and try to configure myself, learnt a little bit of netowrking
and finally my network card was communicating with my ADSL modem.
Tried connecting now , but gives "remote host not responding"
I have learnt a lot now, what is DHCP, DNS, STatic , Dynamic,
what a router, ADSL, Linklights, but still have not achived sucess
Moral of the story: Do not waste your time with BSNL connection,
No one knows how to solve a problem. The customer service are not technically good
